Everything a Dancer Needs to Kick Off Their Dance Season Successfully

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” ― Benjamin Franklin

We know that students are eager to return to classes in-person. Now, more than ever, being prepared and setting yourself up for success is essential. Whether you are kicking off your next dance season at home, in an untraditional studio, or here at Alberta Ballet School, we have prepared a list for all those things that will be essential.

It is always a good time to clean out the ballet bag and reflect on what you pack for your classes. Let’s have those ballet bags ready for when we can all be together again!

The Bag

Every dancer should have a specific bag for their dance clothes and shoes.

When choosing a new dance bag, there are some important points to keep in mind. Think about the number of classes you will be taking. The more classes, the bigger your bag will need to be to fit everything in. Along the same lines, consider picking a dance bag with lots of pockets so that you have a specific place for everything. When shopping for a dance bag, you will also want to consider how comfortable it is to carry around. While that new tote bag is cute and stylish, it may just not be as practical as a backpack style dance bag.

Start packing your bag with your clothes and shoes – from your uniform leotard and white socks to your soft ballet slippers!
