Alberta Ballet School Offers Unique Open Division Credit Program to Alberta High School Students
Alberta Ballet School offers high school students up to 15 credits over 3 years towards their Alberta Education transcript.

Calgary, Alberta, February 3, 2020 – Alberta Ballet School is pleased to offer Alberta high school students the opportunity to earn credits towards their Alberta Education transcript through the Open Division Credit Program. Ballet 15, 25 and 35 program credits can be used towards an Alberta High School Diploma. Additionally, the 35-level course can be used as a 30 level course for admissions to many post-secondary programs.
“At Alberta Ballet School our Open Division Programs offer unparalleled training to dancers of all ages, levels and abilities” said Ashley McNeil, Alberta Ballet School Director. Adding, “We are thrilled to offer our High School ages Open Division Program attendees the recognition they deserve for the commitment they put towards training with us.”
Alberta Ballet School Open Division Credit Program is available to students enrolled in Intensive Training Program classes and attend academic grades 10-12 in either Calgary or Edmonton. The Open Division Credit Program is also be available to students enrolled in the YYC Dance Project who attend all required classes.
The Open Division Credit Program is overseen by an Alberta Education certified instructor along with Alberta Ballet School’s Head of School, in partnership with all Alberta Ballet School Artistic Faculty. In order to enroll in the program students must participate in an assessment that adjudicates the dancer’s level.

Working with Alberta Education to offer a credit program for our high school students in the Open Division simply made sense.”
